Sergio Mart\u00ednez, Cellar Master at Bodegas Lustau was named Best Spanish Winemaker 2018 at the prestigious International Wine Challenge Merchant Awards Spain celebrated in Madrid.\u00a0 This new recognition is added to the title of\u00a0 Best Fortified Winemaker 2018 received earlier.<\/p>\n
After more than 15 years at the House of Lustau in 2016 Sergio began to lead the winery\u2019s oenological team. \u201cThis is the result of the daily hard work from a great team. This award is for each and every one of us that work in Lustau. It is a pride to be able to receive this award again and to feel that Sherry wines have a greater recognition every day.\u201d stated Sergio after receiving the trophy.<\/p>\n
This award is the fruit of the astonishing results achieved in the 34th edition of the contest, in which Lustau, with a total of 51 medals, stood as the winery with the most gold medals (19) of the entire contest.<\/p>\n
