Jerez, 14 July 2016. Bodegas Lustau received the Len Evans Trophy for consistency over 5 years at the International Wine Challenge. The event organisers have confirmed that Lustau is the first and only winery to be awarded this trophy twice.
The 2011 and 2016 Len Evans trophies underscore a golden decade for Lustau. Such achievement endorses its place among the world’s top-quality wines. Bodegas Lustau has consistently earned numerous awards and recognitions. It was the most awarded Spanish winery in 2011 and 2015 and was chosen Best Spanish Winery (2011) and Best Sherry Winery (2015) at the International Wine and Spirit Competition.
The winery’s recently departed winemaker, Manuel Lozano, was IWC Fortified Winemaker of the Year for seven consecutive years and even nominated posthumously in 2016. During the awards ceremony, it was announced that, as a tribute to Lozano, the IWC Champion Fortified Wine award will henceforth be called Manuel Lozano Trophy for IWC Champion Fortified Wine.
