Jerez, 5th March, 2015.
Bodegas LUSTAU (www.lustau.es) held a long wine tasting day yesterday, in order to select the 2015 Spring edition wines of its “LUSTAU 3 EN RAMA” range.?
Manuel Lozano, LUSTAU’s oenologist, awarded “Best liqueur wine Oenologist in the world” by the London’s International Wine Challenge for the sixth consecutive year, presided over a prestigious international committee composed of Sarah Jane Evans, president of the Institute of Masters of Wine, Lucas Payá, renowned sommelier, linked to some of gastronomy’s greats such as Ferrán Adriá, José Andrés or Alain Ducasse, and Christopher Cannan, founder of Europvin, international distributor of the most prestigious wines in Europe.
Manuel Lozano’s extensive experience, added to the critical vision of these three great sherry enthusiasts and specialists, gave the 2015 Spring edition a unique personality. From the best LUSTAU vintages, personally selected by Manuel Lozano, the committee sampled, scored and chose the wines that make the”3 EN RAMA” LUSTAU range: Manzanilla en Rama, from Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Fino en Rama, from Jerez de la Frontera, and Fino en Rama from El Puerto de Santa María.
Of Sanlúcar’s Manzanilla en Rama it was said: “Its pale golden color with flecks of yellow spring flowers, camomile aromas with hints of bakery and green apple, and its vibrant freshness. An unforgettable wine”. Jerez’s Fino en Rama was described as “a bright golden yellow colored wine with coppery highlights. With intense “flower” aromas and an herbaceous and mineral background. Smooth and elegant.” Finally, the Fino en Rama from El Puerto stood out due to its «marked “flower” scent, with mineral background and apricot notes. Freshness and fullness make this wine a true reflection of the classic Puerto Fino style. An exceptional wine.»

?LUSTAU is the first and only winery in the world to offer a range of 3 “En Rama” wines, one for each city in the Sherry Triangle. The wines are called “En Rama” because they are bottled straight from the wineskin, with neither treatment nor filtration, thus maintaining its original character intact. The 2015 Spring edition will feature 1,000 bottles of each wine. Only 42 bottles of each type will remain in Spain.
